I am a contemporary artist, programme director, and practice-based fine art doctoral researcher at Swansea College of Art UWTSD where I am currently studying for my Ph.D. I am Programme Director of the BA(Hons) and MA Illustration courses and a Senior Lecturer on the MA Contemporary Dialogues programme. I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy for which I also mentor new candidates.
I create art and installations through digital technology; specifically artificial intelligence (AI), digital video and photography, text and sound. My work explores philosophical questions around the affectual and sublime experience encountered through emerging technologies.
Through previously working in the advertising industry, I gained extensive experience of broadcast, print and digital communications as an art director, copywriter and creative director. I have also worked as a Graphic Designer and Studio Manager in print and publishing media.
I have been a visiting lecturer on the BA(Hons) Graphic Communication course at Cardiff Metropolitan University and a regular speaker at the annual Creative Futures conferences held at the University of South Wales. I joined academia thirteen years ago and I have been teaching and practicing ever since.
I’m interested in working on new projects, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, campaigns and commissions.
